Backwater Outfitters presented a seminar on kayak fishing tips and hot kayaking spots at 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23-24, at 1730 Cape Coral Parkway.

The seminar was presented by Josh Harvel from Yaknitup Guide Service. He has been fishing in the area for 20 years and specializes in back country kayak fishing and excursions. Harvel is sponsored by U.S. REEL Super Caster Spinning Reels. As a competitor in kayak fishing tournaments, he has consistently placed in the top five, including a first place most recently in the Kayak Slam Series Naples tournament in January.

The seminars also included a casting contest with giveaways and goodie bags.
